The KIKO10BPTGB is Kiko’s own take on Ibanez S Series-withthicker Alder body for tighter low ends.

Ibanez is proud to introduce Kiko Loureiro to our artist roster.As a lead guitarist of the one of the most successful Brazilianprogressive metal bands, Angra, Kiko has been highly praisedinternationally for his versatile and virtuosic guitar playing,gaining a reputation as a “player’s player” in the internationalguitarist scene. In addition to Angra, Kiko is quickly forging hisown solo career, and is turning heads worldwide – specifically inhis new home base of the United States. Kiko has released fourexceptional solo albums so far (his latest titled Sounds ofInnocence), in which he displays his rich ethnic background andskills as a guitarist, ranging from Latin, traditional Brazilianjazz, fusion, as well as metal. Currently, Kiko and Ibanez areworking on his signature guitar, which is scheduled to be releasedlater this year.

Kiko plays a wide range of music, from metal to jazz fusion, andthe pickups were designed to reflect this range of sound. The neckand bridge pickups both humbuckers have medium output and abalanced sound in terms of frequency response. The single-coilmiddle pickup is more powerful and warmer-sounding than a typicalvintage single-coil, in order to balance well with the neck andbridge pickups.

Rosewood fretboard provides a well-balanced solid tone with afocused mid range.

KIKO’s unique scoop cutaway at the back of the body allows eveneasier access to high frets from any angles.

Switching System:
Coil tap is activated by pulling up on the tone knob. When the coiltap is off and the pickup selector switch is in neck position, theneck pickup is selected. When the switch is in between neck andcenter position, the neck side of the neck pickup and the centerpickup are selected. When the switch is in center position, thecenter pickup is selected. When the switch is in between center andbridge position, the center pickup and the neck side of the bridgepickup are selected. When the switch is in bridge position, thebridge pickup is selected. When coil tap is on and the pickupselector switch is in neck position, the neck side of the neckpickup is selected. When the switch is in between neck and centerposition, the neck side of the neck pickup and the center pickupare selected. When the switch is in center position, the centerpickup is selected. When the switch is in between center and bridgepickup, the center pickup and bridge side of the bridge pickup areselected.

Controls:
With the guitar held in the playing position, there is one knob anda five-way pickup selector switch along the lower edge of theguitar. Closest to the end of the body is the tone knob. The volumeknob is located right above the five-way pickup selector switch.The volume knob also functions as a coil tap switch. Pull on theknob to engage the coil tap.
